USGIF Publishes Version 2.0 of its Geospatial Intelligence Essential Body of Knowledge
This document is at the heart of the Foundation’s efforts to create a GEOINT workforce pipeline
Herndon, Virginia (February 14, 2019) — The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) published this week version 2.0 of its Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Essential Body of Knowledge ( EBK). The GEOINT EBK is the foundation for USGIF’s efforts to create a pipeline for the global GEOINT workforce via its K-12, Collegiate Accreditation, and Certified GEOINT Professional ( CGP™) programs.
The EBK is developed by conducting a cross-industry job analysis to identify the knowledge, skills, and abilities critical to the GEOINT workforce, and outlines standards for the broad practice of GEOINT. As the GEOINT profession continues to evolve so does the EBK, reflecting meaningful changes to the tradecraft and incorporating new technology and methodologies.
