Aerobo uses Vermeer and Geomni to provide AR-Maps for Major Golf
December 06, 2018 -- Black Friday was a record-breaking day for golf enthusiasts worldwide. Two of the world’s best golfers, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, participated in a one-on-one golf duel. Having scored 19 majors between the two of them, they competed for a $9 million grand prize on the Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. In the end, Mickelson took home the grand prize.
The event proved an extraordinary match-up, as well as an excellent promotional opportunity. This was the first pay-per-view golf event in history and demonstrated the power of merging two behemoths in telecommunications and entertainment-AT&T and Time Warner.
In short, this was an epic series of firsts and a ton of resources went into making sure everything went just right.
When the Aerobo Drone team was asked to provide drone broadcast coverage, they knew they had to take all the possible precautions to ensure smooth execution of all the aerial shots of the golfers and the course.
